Getting Books into Kids’ Hands

Spread the Word was a student-to-student and community book drive organized by the Fund for Colorado’s Future. Walt Klein Advertising designed the book drive materials and media campaign that would carry through five annual events, collecting more than 50,000 books each year for underprivileged Denver-area students. WKA negotiated and placed PSA radio schedules, including an annual live remote broadcast and book drop hosted by KHOW radio’s celebrity Peter Boyles. WKA also produced radio spots featuring Denver’s Mayor and Colorado’s Governor as campaign spokespeople and organized live interviews on local TV and radio news shows.
